Match Preview Kilkenny United WFC vs Cork City Women’s FC

Cork City Women’s FC return to Continental Tyre’s Women’s National League action this Sunday 16th of July as they travel to face Kilkenny United WFC at United Park in Thomastown with a kick off at 2pm.
City go into Sunday’s game on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Peamount United two weeks ago with last weeks game against UCD Waves postponed due to international call ups. City will be hoping to return to winning way’s with a repeat of their last visit to Thomastown where they had a 5-0 win to progress to the semi final of the Continental Tyre’s Women’s League Cup Competition.
Cork City WFC manager Frank Kelleher was looking forward to Sunday’s game: “Looking forward to Sunday as we travel to Kilkenny. It will be another good test for us as Kilkenny are a club making great progress and winning last week will have strengthened their belief. We know that we will have to be fully focused for this game. We know that we must follow our game plan exactly and execute it. We have a full strength squad to choose from for this game. Another test for us as we progress to where we want to be in the Continental Tyre’s Women’s National League.”
Cork City WFC have no injury concerns but will be missing Amanda Budden through suspension.
Cork City WFC have been drawn away to Shelbourne LFC in the Continental Tyre’s Women’s League Cup Competition with the tie scheduled to be played on the weekend ending Sunday August 20th.
