Cork City Women’s FC would like to thank all those who supported and attended an Evening with John Giles last week on Wednesday June 28th in the Rochestown Park Hotel.

The evening MC’d by Cork’s Red FM Sports Editor and co-host of the Big Red Bench Ruairi O’Hagan saw the Ireland and Leeds United Legend Giles give those attending the benefit of his many years in the game, as a player, manager and pundit. He was joined on stage by Chelsea legend Bobby Tambling and the two shared stories from their long involvement in football.

Before John Giles the evening opened with current Preston North End midfielder and Ireland International Alan Browne who gave an insight into the life of a modern footballer competing cross channel at Championship level.

Speaking on the evening Cork City Women’s FC Chairman Chris O’Mahony said: “On behalf of the club I would like to thank everyone who supported our event. We had a lot of support from local clubs and Cork City FC and the FAI were especially helpful in making the night a success. We’ve had a lot of positive reaction to the evening and everyone who attended seemed to really enjoy it.
